Mr Hashmi was born and educated at the Sacred Heart School in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He further undertook Management and Business programs and returned to Pakistan at an early age of 26 to setup a Plastic Processing industry in Lahore. Mr Hashmi is a Certified Auditor for ISO 9001, 18000, 14000, OHSAS, FSSC 22000 and has represented Pakistan on various international forums in Japan on subjects relating to Pakistan Entrepreneurs development in the SME sector, Die & Mold Development and Corporate social responsibility strategy for Pakistan.
Mr Hashmi designed and headed the International Business Development department of the Engineering Development Board of Pakistan, MOI Islamabad in 2004-5. Some of the successful initiatives undertaken include the “Hannover initiative” that was followed by leading trade delegations to Germany, France and USA over a period of several years for the export promotion of the Pakistan’s engineering sector. He also played an active role in the Engineering vision 2002 formulation. Pakistan’s Engineering Exports Enhancement & Competitive scheme (PEEECS) was also authored by him. A situation analysis of the CNC machine equipment manufacturing viability in Pakistan on the EDB Forum was also initiated and documented by him. He played an active part in the tailoring of the Auto Tariff Based system and the first Auto Policy of Pakistan and the initial Industry specific deletion programs.
Mr Hashmi was nominated as a founding Director of the PIEDMC in 2004 - (Punjab Industrial Estates Development & Management Company) by the Government of Punjab and headed the company’s Marketing, Telecommunications, Power generation, Human resource & IT committees. Over the years of his Directorship, he drafted and put in place business friendly Industrial promotional and development policies including Transfer and building by-laws, Rules of business for the various Industrial estates and Board of Management including the Sunder Industrial Estate, Quaid e Azam Industrial Estate and Multan Industrial Estate. These policies now continue to be standardized in all new upcoming Industrial estates of Punjab. Programs relating to the development of Commercial Zones and building of Multi storey common facility industrial complexes have been envisioned and designed by him.
In 2019 the Government of Punjab appointed Mr Hashmi as the Chairman of the Punjab Industrial Estates and Development company and was given the target of revitalizing business parks and converting them to Special Economic Zones. The Special Economic Zone “QABP” Quaid e Azam Business Park on the M2 has been designed and now under development due to his management. Punjab’s first Aqua Park in Chunian for shrimp and Fish farming, Introduction of Cottage Residence Parks concept and the Bahawalpur Industrial estates are all credited to Mr Hashmi’s leadership.
Pakistan’s largest trade fairs which include the PAKISTAN AUTOSHOW (PAPS) and PAKISTAN PLASTIC SHOW (PAKPLAS) were initiated by Mr Hashmi as their Chief Organizer. They are major trade shows of Pakistan.

BBN Energy Pvt Ltd is a Liquid Petroleum Gas handling company. The company owns and operates LPG Storage facilities in the suburban areas of Lahore, Multan (Punjab) and Taftan Baluchistan. The Brand name is known as “WATNA GAS.
