Ans: The Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) is an organization for human resources development in developing countries to promote technical cooperation through training, experts dispatch and other programs.

AOTS, Japan was established in 1959 with the support of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Its main purpose is to promote technical cooperation for the industrialization and development of developing country and enhance mutual understanding and friendly relations between those countries and Japan. To date, AOTS has trained over 300,500 persons in Japan from nearly 150 countries and regions. In addition, it has organized various training programs outside Japan involving more than 151,000 participants from developing countries.

Q: How to become the member of AOTS?

Ans: There are multiple ways of becoming members:

1. Regular Membership: Ex-trainees from different courses can become the member by paying an annual subscription.

2. Special Membership: Japanese nationals working in the jurisdiction of LAHORE center and employed by those Japanese firms who have affiliation with AOTS, ABKD and ASCA shell be entitled to become special members.

3. Corporate members: it means companies, corporations, societies, trusts or other originations or institutions who, in the opinion of the executive committee, support the objectives of the society.

4. Honorary Members: Honorary members it means those persons who have made exceptional contributions in connection with the objective of the society and hence been so recognized by the society in the general meeting or shell also be given to distinguished persons in the fields of engineering, medicine, industry, art, architecture, journalism, literature, etc.

Note: Persons, except those mention above, Engineering corporations or other firms applying for the membership of the society shall become special members upon approval by the executive committee.

Q: How to pay the annual member ship fee?

Ans: You can submit your annual membership either in the AOTS Lahore office or by bank transfer. Bank transfer details can be found on the website under Payment's Section.
